Developing the Residential Waste Diversion Master Plan

Welcome to CedarParkWasteDiversion.com, a website dedicated to the development of Cedar Park’s Residential Waste Diversion Master Plan. Here you’ll find important information such as presentations, documents, meeting dates, as well as opportunities for public input throughout the master planning process.

Developing a Residential Waste Diversion Master Plan represents a critical step to determine how the Cedar Park will manage its municipal solid waste stream on a long-term basis.

Planning and implementing an integrated solid waste management program is a complex and challenging endeavor encompassing a host of issues: financial, technological, institutional, legal, social and environmental. Furthermore, as cities throughout the US pursue solutions to their solid waste management challenges, it is increasingly apparent that no single method, technology or program offers a complete solution; rather, a combination of methods is needed to provide for appropriate and cost-effective management of specific types of waste in accordance with the unique properties of these various waste stream components.

The master plan will:

Provide the vision and framework
to guide future activity.

Develop the infrastructure, programs and
policy needed to manage Cedar Park’s
solid waste for the next 20 years.
